SEWARD
Travel the Alaska Railroad from beautiful Anchorage to Seward. Seward is situated at the head of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula, Seward is one of Alaska's oldest and most scenic communities. WHITTIER - GATEWAY TO PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND GLACIERS
Situated at the head of the Passage Canal on the western edge of Prince William Sound, the community of Whittier is approximately 60 miles southeast of Anchorage. This area originally was part of the portage route for the Chugach Indians of Prince William Sound traveling to fish the Turnagain Arm. Later the Russians and Americans exploring the region used this passage. It was used by prospecting miners during the gold rush as it was the quickest passage from the Sound to the Cook Inlet and Interior regions. It is a port for the largest cruise ships as well as the Alaska Marine Ferry's coming from Southeast Alaska.
TALKEETNA
The historic village of Talkeetna is nestled at the base of Denali (Mount McKinley), North America's tallest peak. Talkeetna has an outstanding panoramic view of the Alaska Range that can be enjoyed and photographed from several places as you wander through this town and discover what this unique location has to offer. DENALI NATIONAL PARK & RESERVE
Denali's is the name given to the highest North American Mountain located 120 miles southwest of Fairbanks by Athabascans and means "High One". FAIRBANKS
Known as the Interior of Alaska is located 370 miles north of Anchorage just off the Tanana and Chena Rivers and is Alaska's second largest city. Fairbanks is known for its riverboats and early gold prospectors but now plays a major role as an important supply route to the North Slope oil fields. During winter months some of the best display of northern lights or Aurora Borealis sightseeing is viewed. The highlights of Fairbanks not to be missed are the Riverboat Discovery, Athabascan Indian village, Alaska Pipeline and Chena Hot Springs.
